Tool-less Installation Instructions for EZ-VU Video Baluns

Step 1: Hold the metal BNC connector securely between thumb and index finger. With other hand, apply down and backward pressure with thumb just behind the BNC connector to slide cover off. Cover may be somewhat tight when first opening, but with continued backward pressure, it will slide off easily. DO NOT USE TOOLS OF ANY KIND TO ATTEMPT TO REMOVE SLIDING COVER!

Step 2: Once cover is removed, you will notice a green connector with orange colored blocks at rear of balun. Grasp the orange blocks and gently pull them straight up until they snap into an "up position".  (Once again, DO NOT USE TOOLS for this procedure.) Position the pair of wires from CAT 5 cable (recommended) or CAT 3 and place them individually in the two holes at the rear of the green connector. (See Photo 1) DO NOT MANUALLY "STRIP" THE WIRES! When the two wires are in place as far as they will go into the holes, press the orange blocks straight down with thumb pressure until you hear and feel the orange blocks snap into locked position. This will assure the two wires are securely in place. (See Photo 2)

Step 3: Place the sliding cover back into the balun channel grooves and slowly slide forward to close. As cover nears the closed position, carefully position the wires into the small notched grooves on the back of the sliding cover. This will provide a smooth and tight strain relief closure. (See Photo 3)
 

Step 4: As the sliding cover is pressed fully closed with thumb pressure, the two wires should be aligned into the notched grooves on the back of the sliding cover. (See Photo 4)

Step 5: With proper closure and alignment of wires, unit should hold wires securely in place. (See Photo 5)

Step 6: If installation is done properly, wires should appear as shown in Photo 6, if sliding cover is removed.
