Tuscany Package Three

Day 1- Depart USA

Evening departure from the USA. Dinner and Breakfast served on board. Cross the Atlantic and awake in Italy.

Day 2 – Venice

Transfer to a domestic flight and arrive in Venice, a city full of history and romance. You will then be transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this great city on your own. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

Day 3- Venice

After breakfast, you will enjoy a walking tour of Venice. Sights include St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sights, Piombi Prison, the Bell Tower and the Clock Tower. The rest of the day is at your leisure for you to relax , do some shopping, visit the world-famous Murano glass factory or wander along Venice’s enchanting cobblestone streets. Perhaps you would enjoy a romantic ride on a gondola, riding through the canals and listening to the gondolier’s serenade. Tonight you are free to enjoy dinner on your own at a local Venetian restaurant.

Day 4 – Venice / Florence

After breakfast, depart for the exciting and historic city of Florence via motorcoach with a stop along the way in Padua to visit the Basilica of St. Anthony. Continue on and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the countryside. Arrive in Florence , check-in at the hotel and relax. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

Day 5 – Florence

After breakfast, depart for a local guided sightseeing tour of the “Cradle of the Renaissance: Florence. Visit Michelangelo Square, the Accademia to see the original statue of Michelangelo’s David, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery with its “Gates of Paradise” doors, Signoria Square and Santa Croce Church. Transfer back to your hotel. Tonight enjoy dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

Day 6 – Siena / San Gimignano Excursion

 After breakfast, a drive through the Chianti region exploring the vineyards and visiting a famous winery for some wine testing. Then on to the medieval towns of Siena and San Gimignano. Siena, with its narrow gothic streets, lined with palaces and patrician mansions. Continue on to San Gimignano, famous for its medieval towers. Walk through the Piazza del Duomo  and browse through shops full of locally handmade arts and crafts. You are in the heart of the Tuscan Region. Enjoy the breathtaking countryside full of vineyards and olive groves. Transfer back to your hotel. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 7 – Pisa / Lucca Excursion

After breakfast, depart for Pisa. Visit the world-famous Leaning Tower, the  Cathedral, Baptistery and Piazza dei Miracoli. The next stop is the historic city surrounded by walls, Lucca, which dates back to 180BC. Walk through the narrow streets and enjoy the ancient churches and palaces or relax at a quaint little café in the Piazza. Tonight enjoy dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

Day 8 – Florence / Perugia / Assisi / Rome

Morning departure for Rome. Drive through the serene Tuscan and Umbrian countryside, past the medieval city of Perugia and on to Assisi. Arrive in Rome, the eternal city. Enjoy a welcome dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

Day 9 – Rome

A comprehensive sightseeing tour of the center of  Rome which includes Piazza Venezia, Coliseum, Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus and St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City. The afternoon is at your leisure. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own at a colorful Roman restaurant.

Day 10 – Rome

Full day at your leisure. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner with wine at the hotel or at a local restaurant

Day 11 – Rome / USA

Morning departure to the airport for your return flight home to the USA. Meals and refreshments served on board.
