The function of a CCTV Video Balun is to allow traditional 75-ohm coaxial video cable to be replaced by Category 5 (CAT 5) twisted pair Ethernet cable in a CCTV security and surveillance environment, thereby allowing CCTV camera and monitoring equipment to be deployed more cost-effectively using structured cabling techniques. 

The CCTV balun has applications in the following areas:

The "EZ-VU" Tool-less CCTV Balun works with any analog baseband video equipment that supports NTSC, PAL or SECAM systems, CCTV cameras, video multiplexers, video switchers, monitors, scan converters and signal boosters.

The "EZ-VU" CCTV Balun works in pairs. This Balun will also work in conjunction with other third party baluns.  In other words, the "EZ-VU" will perform fine if it is placed either on the camera or the switcher box, and a third party balun is on the opposite end as long as it is verified that the signal polarity of the twisted pair wires are straight through and not reversed.
